Good news coffee lovers. A recent study conducted by Professor Lyn Griffiths, the Director of the Geonomics Research Centre at Griffith University, shows that drinking 3 cups of coffee per day may help to prevent certain types of cancer and cardiovascular disease.

62 people were observed under a 4 week study drinking 3 cups per day and a controlled diet. During this period, blood tests were taken and it was noted that a particular “key” gene responsible for switching on many of the anti-oxidant enzymes that protect cells from toxins and chemicals became much more active.

After the 4 week period, a wash out phase took place to remove all coffee from the subjects systems and further blood tests showed a reduction in activity of the cancer fighting gene.

Love your work Lyn. Drink up people!
