Blue Bottle Coffee NYC

If You Find Yourself in Williamsburg

As hard as this is to believe, other places are just not like Melbourne. You can pretty much head in any direction in Melbourne and you’ll soon be tripping over hip cafés serving a variety of single origin options. This is not so much the case elsewhere. Shock!

In the real world, good coffee is not so easily found. So, if you happen to find yourself somewhere like – say – Williamsburg and in need of coffee, do yourself a favour and check out Blue Bottle on Berry Street.

In Blue Bottle’s own words:

“Constructed in 1910, the handsome brick building that houses our first New York cafe has seen a variety of practical uses and creative tenants over the years, including glass blowers, metal smiths, barrel makers, and rope-factory workers.

Now, our bustling New York outpost, it hosts a cafe, training lab, roasting facility, green coffee storage, office space, and a kitchen. We love the vitality of our Williamsburg surroundings and being a restful stop for regulars who commute to and from the nearby Bedford Avenue Station.

Here in our little corner of Brooklyn, we roast coffee on a vintage Probat roaster and serve it with the help of a variety of interesting devices: Oji-style iced coffee drippers, a custom Slayer espresso machine modeled after a 1973 Citroën SM, and perhaps the longest and most theatrical drip bar on the eastern seaboard. All of our espresso and pour over coffee is ground and prepared to order, and all our iced coffee is cold brewed.”
